Wild

Sinomacrops bondei is a friendly and curious little pterosaur. It may arroyo and investigate unfamiliar creatures, simply Sinomacrops does spook easily. When threatened, information technology volition unfurl its wings to reveal deimatic eyespots in an attempt to misfile or scare predators away. Still, Sinomacrops seems to exist a highly intelligent creature that craves social interaction. While information technology's unremarkably curious and friendly, Sinomacrops' adorably oversized oral cavity turns into a deadly weapon at the slightest sight and smell of insects. Even lonely, this cute trivial critter tin can have downwardly insects far larger than itself. Unfortunately, this means that armor made from chitinous plates is going to trigger an assail response from the otherwise sugariness-hearted pterosaur.

Domesticated

Taming a Sinomacrops is fairly straightforward (in theory) -- just feed them without scaring them. Once tamed, they admittedly love travelling with their humans, and prefer to cling to them whenever possible. Not simply are they sociable, simply they're fiercely protective once bonded. Any small creature approaching someone with a tame Sinomacrops will exist met with its flashing eyespots and piercing shriek. That's usually plenty to stun an undersized interloper. For such a pocket-size flier, Sinomacrops can carry surprisingly heavy loads. Information technology tin can even back up the weight of a fully-grown human adult, though information technology will struggle to gain altitude. Nonetheless, whatsoever creature companion that can double as a glider and parachute is invaluable for anyone traversing an ARK... as long as they bring enough of snacks for their new friend.

Behavior

Institute most usually flying effectually the jungle, Sinomacrops are passive and flee if you sprint nigh them (unless wearing Chitin Armor, and then they will be highly agressive).

Appearance

Color Scheme and Regions.

This section displays the Sinomacrops'south natural colors and regions. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Sinomacrops. The colored squares shown underneath each region'southward description are the colors that the Sinomacrops volition randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme. Hover your cursor over a color to brandish its proper noun and ID.

This data can be used to alter the Sinomacrops'due south regions by entering cheat SetTargetDinoColor <ColorRegion> <ColorID> in the cheat console. For case, crook SetTargetDinoColor 0 half-dozen would color the Sinomacrops'south "main body" magenta.

The stat-calculator does not work in the mobile-view, see here for alternatives: Apps

Notation that later the beast is tamed information technology gets bonuses on some stats depending on the taming effectiveness. This makes information technology hard to retrieve the levels on a tamed animate being, so this tool is merely for wild ones, just gives a commencement impression, how well the stats are distributed.

Combat

This section describes how to fight confronting the Sinomacrops.

General

The Sinomacrops is only aggressive to players when wearing even a office of Chitin Armor. They can be annoying to fight when a flock is attacking at one time and if not dealt with can kill you lot with plenty time.

Strategy

There is minimal strategy when fighting a Sinomacrops. Melee weapons piece of work great equally well equally modest defence force creatures like a Dilophosaur or a Raptor, any other stronger fauna volition work well.

Weaponry

Melee Weapons similar the Sword, Pike, and Spear are effective means of killing a Sinomacrops.

Dangers

Do not clothing Chitin Armor when in the proximity of Sinomacrops, as they immediately go aggressive in its presence.

Weakness

Taming

Sinomacrops is tamed non-violently using  Chitin and volition merely eat Chitin tamed equally an adult and as a baby.

With  Chitin in your hotbar slot 0, approach the animate being (or simply go close enough to allow information technology sense your presence and it approach you) and feed it. When you feed the creature, it will fly off for the moment which requires you to follow it (and track it with the Taming Tracker HUD.) When there are hearts floating effectually the creature, it will fly back to yous (or hop at you, if its landed) and yous tin can feed it. Repeat the process, and eventually and it will be tamed.

Considerations when attempting to tame the creature:

Utility

Roles

  • Glider/Hover/Parachute: Sinomacrops can act as a living jetpack, supplementing the  Parachute and more chiefly,  Glider Suit Skin. It volition open its wings up if allowed to much like the Glider, allowing gliding across the map, or temporarily hovering above (and struggling to fly up if needed) much similar  Bloodstalker. Nonetheless, how far or long it tin concord depends greatly on its  Stamina to withstand the gliding left. (Level  Stamina).
    • Come across the Abilities section for controls.
  • Backpack: Sinomacrops will reduce the weight of every item in its inventory by 50% profoundly increasing the amount a Survivor can carry compared to other shoulder-mounts. (Level  Weight)
  • Scare Sign: Sinomacrops are great for scaring smaller creatures while its on a survivor's back, similar  Ichthyornis and  Pegomastax. The circle card must be added to let it auto-scream every bit needed, but much like the Light Pets from Abnormality, tin can be toggled to scream with "Low-cal!" emotion(The emote "Clap" does the same affair for those that dont have "light"[to unlock light tame a light pet]). There are no stat focus needed for this part.
  • Bug Zapper: Though its scare ability doesn't deal very much damage, information technology is lethal on activation when used against Meganeura, Leeches, and Titanomyrma; making the Sinomacrops an excellent means of pest command, and helping to reduce your overall annoyance when trudging through jungles and swamps.
  • Dismounter: Dismounting some larger tames, such as the Giganotosaurus, leaves yous stuck up on a very high saddle, where if y'all do not walk off onto higher basis or an elevated platform to provide a break in your fall, volition consistently meet you taking fall impairment. The Sinomacrops provides a means of safely jumping off of these high saddles without taking fall damage, provided you remember to employ its wings in the process.
  • Bug fighter: yous can use it'southward damage multiplier on bugs like the Araneo in cave runs that accept a lot of bugs good for areas that are too minor for dinos that are effective against bugs (health and impairment)
  • Rockwell Proliferation mount: it can fly past Summoners and scare away Noglins. If you lot want to fight Rockwell Prime without dino loss before fight just cryo your dinos and fly to the obelisk on a sino.
  • Caver/Fjordur realm flyer: just like Desmodus, Sinomacrops tin can fly in caves and Fjordur realms, notwithstanding it can also fly in Genesis ane and Abnormality making it more than useful
